Privacy Policy

1. What stays on your computer

This data is written to the browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local). It never leaves your machine, nobody else can read it, and we hold no copy of it:

• your ASIFY browsing history: the last 250 AliExpress items you opened, with the price and rating shown on that day;
• your favorite items — up to 500 — and the folders you file them in;
• the items you track — up to 50 — and their successive readings of price, rating, review count, favorite count and order count;
• your display preferences: currency, filters, selected tab;
• the installation identifier described in section 2.c.

You can erase it whenever you like: the "Clear", "Remove from favorites" and "Stop tracking" buttons delete it immediately, and uninstalling the extension removes the storage entirely.

2. What the extension sends

a. Public information from AliExpress product pages

When you open a product page, the extension sends our server what the page displays publicly: item identifier, title, price and currency, rating, review and order counts, variants, images, video, and the store's public information (name, country, level, age, positive feedback rate). Identifiers of items seen on listing and search pages are sent the same way.

This is what makes the extension useful: the review analysis, the buyer map and the seller search all read from that database rather than from the page. This information describes products, not you: it carries no identifier of yours, no address, and nothing that points back to you.

b. Reviews published on product pages

When you run "Analyze reviews" on an item, the extension reads the reviews the page publishes and records them: the display name shown by AliExpress, country, rating, date, comment, attached photos and the variant purchased. This content is already public, published by its authors on AliExpress, and it does not concern you — unless you are yourself the author of one of those reviews.

c. An installation identifier

On first use, the extension draws a random string (shaped like 1758823441982.kR7pQ2mXvB4t) and keeps it on your computer. It is sent along with:

• your browser's language;
• the version of the extension installed;
• the delivery region you selected on AliExpress, read from the aep_usuc_f cookie that the site sets.

We use this to know how many installations are active, which versions are still running and which markets are served. The identifier is tied to no account and no email address, and cannot recognise you across devices: it belongs to this installation only. It is deleted from our database as soon as you uninstall the extension, which notifies the server on its way out.

d. Downloading images and videos

When you request an archive, the addresses of the selected files are sent to our download service, which fetches them and hands you an archive. That archive is erased from the server once retrieved, and in any case at the next sweep. No information about you accompanies the request.

e. Our server logs

Like any web server, ours record the requests they receive: IP address, date, time, requested path and browser type. This is necessary to operate and secure the service. These logs are kept for about 14 days, then deleted automatically. They are not matched against the installation identifier.

3. What the extension does not do

• It only runs on aliexpress.com. Every other site you visit is invisible to it.
• It requires no account: no sign-up, no username, no password, no email address.
• It does not touch your AliExpress account: it does not sign in, places no orders, and reads neither your orders nor your messages.
• It reads a single cookie, the one holding your delivery region, and writes or alters none.
• It bundles no third-party tracker: no Google Analytics, no ad network, no measurement pixel.
• We do not sell, rent or trade any data, to anyone.

4. How the extension is funded

ASIFY is free. It is funded through affiliation: some of the product pages you open are reopened through a link from the AliExpress partner program, which sends you straight on to the page you asked for. AliExpress then knows the visit came from ASIFY and pays us a commission if you buy.

The price you pay is exactly the same, and we pass no information about you to the affiliate program: the link carries only the page address and our partner code.

5. How long data is kept

• Your local lists: for as long as you keep them. You can erase them at any time, and uninstalling removes them all.
• Your installation record (identifier, language, version, region): deleted automatically when you uninstall the extension.
• Product and review information: kept for as long as it serves the extension, as it describes a public catalogue rather than people.
• Server logs: about 14 days.

6. Where the data is hosted

On a server located in France, operated by OVH. It is transferred to no processor, to no third country, and disclosed to nobody — except where we are legally required to respond.

7. Your rights

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection and portability over data concerning you.

In practice, most of it is in your hands: your lists are on your own computer and you erase them yourself, and uninstalling deletes your record from our database. For anything else, write to us — if you still have your installation identifier, include it, as it is the only key that lets us find what concerns you. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).

8. Children

ASIFY is not directed at children and knowingly collects no data concerning them.

9. Changes

This policy may change. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page, and any change takes effect on publication here. A change that would widen what the extension transmits will be announced in the extension's description on the Chrome Web Store.
